nPM1304 Power Management IC

Highly integrated with unique system management features for small size batteries

The nPM1304 is a highly integrated multifunction Power Management IC (PMIC) that includes battery charger, an algorithm-based fuel gauge, two ultra-efficient step-down buck regulators, two LDOs / load switches, and comprehensive system management functions into a single device. It supports battery charge current as low as 4 mA. The nPM1304 reduces the bill of materials by replacing multiple discrete components while enabling greater design flexibility through a fully I²C-compatible TWI interface.

The nPM1304 includes an algorithm-based battery fuel gauge solution with state of charge and state of health reporting. It is highly accurate, consumes ultra-low power and does not require any extra components. A rich set of system management features including a hardware watchdog, power-loss warning, hard-reset supervisory circuit, failed-boot recovery, ship and hibernate mode.A

nPM PowerUP

nPM PowerUP is a desktop application for controlling the nPM1304 Evaluation Kit (EK). Once connected to an EK, the app gives full control over the adjustable settings of the nPM1304 PMIC. Using the included battery models, you can also get an estimated time-to-full and time-to-empty when charging or discharging a battery connected to the EK.

nPM PowerUP is found inside nRF Connect for Desktop
