Evaluation kit for the nPM2100 Power Management IC (PMIC), optimized for ultra‑low‑power designs using primary‑cell batteries

The nPM2100 Evaluation Kit (EK) enables fast evaluation and code‑free configuration of the nPM2100 PMIC using the nPM PowerUP desktop application in nRF Connect for Desktop. Through an intuitive graphical interface, all PMIC settings can be configured and exported as code for direct integration into the host MCU application. 

The EK provides male pin headers for access to all nPM2100 connections, allowing easy connection to Nordic Development Kits (DKs) and external test equipment. Integrated LEDs and pushbuttons enable evaluation of the PMIC’s built‑in LED drivers and GPIO functionality.  

The kit includes six interchangeable battery holders supporting a wide range of primary‑cell configurations - AA and AAA alkaline batteries in both single‑cell and two‑cell series configurations, as well as common coin‑cell batteries in 20 mm and 11.6 mm diameters, such as CR2032 and LR44.

Nordic’s fuel gauging provides accurate state of charge information for all supported battery types. Battery state of health is also supported for rechargeable batteries - tracking actual capacity and aging over time to understand how the battery performs throughout its lifetime. This deeper insight helps devices stay reliable for longer and makes rechargeable battery replacement more predictable.
