The nPM1304 Evaluation Kit (EK) enables fast evaluation and code‑free configuration of the nPM1304 PMIC using the nPM PowerUP desktop application in nRF Connect for Desktop. Through an intuitive graphical interface, all PMIC settings can be configured and exported as code for direct integration into the host MCU application.
The EK provides male pin headers for access to all nPM1304 connections, allowing easy connection to Nordic Development Kits (DKs) and external test equipment. Integrated LEDs and pushbuttons enable evaluation of the PMIC’s built‑in LED drivers and GPIO functionality, while JST battery connectors support batteries with or without an internal NTC. A 20 mAh battery is included for immediate evaluation.
For fuel‑gauge evaluation, users can start with pre‑profiled battery models included in nPM PowerUP. For best state of charge and state of health accuracy, battery profiling and model generation is a one‑time process, and the nPM1304 EK includes the programmable load circuitry required to perform this profiling directly—no external fuel‑gauge board is needed.

Highly integrated Power Management IC (PMIC) with support for small size battery products
The nPM1304 is designed to provide highly efficient power regulation for Nordic’s nRF52®, nRF53®, nRF54L and nRF54H Series. Devices using the nPM1304 and a compatible SoC also get access to the Nordic Fuel Gauge, a highly accurate, ultra-low-power way of estimating state-of-charge of rechargeable batteries.
To accurately estimate the battery state-of-charge in percent, from 0 to 100 %, the nPM1304's fuel gauge functionality uses a model of your battery along with the battery's temperature, voltage and the current measured by the PMIC. The estimation algorithm can then be run on any Arm Cortex M4 or M33, like those found in the nRF52, nRF53 and nRF91 Series and does not require additional hardware beyond this.
The battery model is created by doing an analysis of your specific battery, in your own lab, with the help of the nPM1304 Evaluation Kit
